Many products are available for bed bug monitoring, and placement recommendations are just as numerous. Many of the customers most interested in monitoring for bed bugs are also the most concerned about the visibility of the device placement. The hospitality industry is an example. This situation can leave professionals seeking the ideal monitoring placement — one that is not as visible to guests, but where bed bugs are likely to interact with the device. I suggest using a flat, hard-shell monitoring device between the mattress and box spring — where bed bugs spend most of their time — placed in the center of the bed about 1 ft. in from the head board.
