UPDATE: App price was amended to the correct dollar figure of $4.99.
The National Pest Management Association (NPMA) gave attendees at PesTech3.0, it’s technology conference taking place Jan. 5-7 in San Jose, Calif., a sneak peek at the mobile version of its Field Guide to Structural Pests.
At the start of Wednesday’s afternoon session, the organization unveiled a video along with a new campaign, “Every truck should have a Field Guide.”
The app is expected to be available in March for iOS and Android devices at a cost of $4.99 per device.
Bringing the 800-page Field Guide into the digital age will make it easier for users to find pests’ biology and control, thanks to search functionality. The app includes several other features, such as the ability to create notes, add photos, “hide” information about pests not prevalent in the area, and contact the NPMA directly should the need arise for additional information. It was developed by eNex, the company that powers PestMate, a business management software specific to pest control.
