On Wednesday, May 4, the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) will host a virtual workshop titled “Zika: What You Need to Know.”
Beginning at 1 p.m. ET on May 4, the 3.5-hour workshop is designed to deliver business, technical and messaging expertise to pest management professionals (PMPs) in preparation for the upcoming mosquito season.
“This workshop will offer all NPMA members free access to the latest Zika information as it relates to the virus background, business models for effective mosquito control, technical information on Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus and messaging to inform current and potential customers about facts on Zika this season,” says NPMA Chief Industry Relations Officer Andrew Architect.
Sponsored by MGK, Oldham Chemicals, Univar and Zoecon/Central Life Sciences, the workshop features a representative from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (invited); Greg Sweat of Arrow Exterminators, Atlanta; Dave Billingsly of American Pest, Fulton, Md.; and Dennis Jenkins of ABC Home and Commercial Services, Lewisville, Texas. Also presenting is Cindy Mannes, the executive director of the Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA), and Dr. Jim Fredericks, a PMP columnist and NPMA’s vice president of technical and regulatory affairs.
The workshop will be broken into four segments:
