Cindy Mannes continues to educate and inform the public through the Professional Pest Management Alliance.

For almost two decades, the Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA) has worked to market the value of the industry to the public. In this way, the PPMA has blazed a trail of positive exposure and growth of pest management’s residential and commercial markets.

Cindy Mannes is executive director of the PPMA, in addition to being the National Pest Management Association’s (NPMA’s) president of public affairs. She says the future of the PPMA is bright.

“With the media, we have become the go-to experts on pests, and pest threats and diseases that impact the public,” she says. “As protectors of public health and property, we also are able to position our industry as the true professionals we are.”

You can thank the PPMA for thousands of positive pest management-related stories, including USA Today, the Weather Channel, Popular Science magazine and much more. This, in addition to providing digital educational content to consumers via the newly redesigned PestWorld.org.

“In 2015 alone, we had just shy of 3 million consumers visit the site to learn about professional pest management and the value we provide,” Mannes says.

Key partnerships are an essential component to the PPMA’s mission. For instance, in April, the organization partnered with home repair expert and TV host Bob Vila to promote National Pest Management Month.

“We continue to partner with like-minded, credible organizations and continue to work vigorously to protect, defend, promote and grow the professional pest management industry,” Mannes says.

Mainframe is a new, exclusive subscription service for PPMA investors, featuring materials to jumpstart or supplement existing marketing, public relations or social media efforts. Each month, press release templates, social media content and other digital assets are added.

“I couldn’t be more proud to serve this industry,” Mannes says. “Each and every day, we’re able to represent the pest management industry as the true professionals we are.”
