The National Pest Management Association’s (NPMA’s) Marketing/Membership Committee has only been in existence for about four years, yet has accomplished a multitude of tasks, including the redesign of the new logo and tagline.
While Membership Co-Chair Pamela Blauvelt, Griffin Pest Solutions, joked that the committee’s motto should be “We get things done,” she speaks the truth: This is the committee that redesigned the NPMA logo, takes care of all of the association’s social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and – new this year – SnapChat), and is charged with member attraction, retention and outreach.
Highlights from the Oct. 18 meeting, which is co-chaired by Nicole Keefe, Clark Pest Control, include:
- The MyNPMA online community has more than 20,000 participants. Its open forum currently has 122 discussions and 54 different communities.
- This week at the PestWorld expo floor, look for the social wall: Anyone posting online using the hashtag #PestWorld2016 will show up on the feed.
- Projects in progress include working more closely with state associations and helping members interested in association leadership positions accomplish their goals.
