A squirrelly attempt to disrupt a Packers game

Last Sunday, an unexpected player stole the show during a Packer’s game at Lambeau Field – a squirrel. The bushy-tailed bad boy interrupted the third quarter, offering perhaps the only highlight for Packers fans during an otherwise disappointing game they witnessed.

While the Twittersphere seemed to enjoy the antics, a Terminix representative who brought the story to our attention explained that the company was far more interested in the stadium staff’s attempt (and failure) to capture the disruptive rodent. The pest control company issued the following offer to help on Facebook earlier this week:

“Quite the performance by the Lambeau Field squirrel yesterday! It’s not every day a varmint interrupts a big game, but what caught our attention was the net-wielding employee whose valiant attempt to capture the elusive squirrel was ultimately unsuccessful. We’d like to offer him the opportunity to job shadow some of the best squirrel capturers in the country at Terminix. If you know (or are) this young man, give us a call and we’ll set up free ride-alongs and training sessions before the next home game on Dec. 4.”

An innovative way to bring new faces into the pest management fold, to be sure. PMP attempted to reach the squirrel for comment, but as this is being posted, we’ve yet to hear a … squeak? chirp? What do you call the sound a squirrel makes anyway?

The Packers ought to sign the little feller up!! He showed them that he can run and dodge tackles and avoid traps to stop him from making a touch down. GO PACKERS!!
