Still have a pest management professional (PMP), entomologist or insect-lover on your holiday shopping list? The Entomological Society of America (ESA) 2017 World of Insects wall calendar is now available for purchase.
The calendar showcases insects through spectacular photographs submitted as part of a yearly competition organized by the ESA.
This year, more than 450 photos were submitted by 105 insect photographers from around the world, the ESA says in a news release, and winners were selected by a judging committee of ESA-member entomologists.
The 2017 cover photo captures two insect species that co-exist in a classic example of a symbiotic relationship: the winter ant (Prenolepis impairs) and two-marked treehopper (Enchenopa binotata), taken by F. William Ravlin of Okemos, Mich.
The 2017 World of Insects wall calendar can be purchased on the ESA Online Bookstore, or through a PDF order form for bulk orders.
The ESA notes its 2017 World of Insects wall calendar is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
