McDonough, Ga.-based Active Pest Control was the title sponsor for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Active Pest Control 200, which took place March 4 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. This is the first year Active sponsored the series; it sponsored the qualifier in 2016. Because the Speedway is located so close to Active’s corporate offices, CEO Tony Carder sees it as a win-win program.
“Our company motto is ‘Where Relationships Matter,’ and what better way to live out our motto than to build relationships within our community?” Carder says. “This year’s race was not only about advertising our company, but about bringing awareness to great organizations like Wounded Warrior and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. We have truly enjoyed the relationships we have built with these two groups, and we look forward to future interactions.”

Using the hashtag #GoActiveFast for social media coverage, the company got a lot of “mileage” from its sponsorship, as seen here in its employee photo at the Speedway. Even Artie the Mascot got in on the act.

Active’s three grand marshals for the event were Navy veteran Marisa Appling and Army veteran Robert Langford Jr., both of whom represented the Wounded Warrior Project; and Jaxx Reasoner, representing Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. The 5-year-old was diagnosed with leukemia in August, but is currently in remission.
