It’s mosquito season, and even pest management professionals (PMPs) need to protect themselves from these blood-sucking pests. PMP Hall of Famer Dr. Austin Frishman shares eight mosquito prevention tips PMPs can pass along to clients. I’d like to chime in with some advice about wearing mosquito repellent, courtesy of InsectCop.net’s Karen Thompson:

Because we often tend to use insect repellent in tandem with sunscreen, make sure you know which product to use first. Generally, it is advised to use sunscreen and other sun protection products first, let them dry and absorb into your skin, and only then apply insect repellent.

She says most insect repellents have the ability to lessen the efficiency of sunscreen. For more repellent tips, check out Thompson’s April 17 post on PMP’s blog, PMPPestTalk.net.
