How to use bed bug monitors for prevention

An increasing number of PMPs are using bed bug monitors as part of a prevention program. In commercial settings like office buildings, companies may offer a proactive monitoring program to clients that will provide a discounted treatment if bed bugs are found — or even cover the entire cost of treatment.

For residential properties, companies have built-in bed bug monitoring with their quarterly insect programs, which would include the cost for treatment if bed bugs are introduced.

For public housing and multi-housing accounts, property managers also are opting for proactive monitoring programs to keep an eye on the entire community — and assist in identifying bed bug infestations early on.
