McCloud Services hosted its 20th Annual Pest Invasion Seminar on June 27 in Oak Brook, Ill. The theme of the one-day event was “A Tactical Approach to a Winning Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Program,” and more than 150 professionals involved in the food supply chain of custody, including food, pest management and environmental health, attended.
“This year’s Pest Invasion was our best one yet,” said Chris McCloud, CEO of McCloud Services. “We really liked how the sessions flowed together, with attendees first learning how to build an IPM program, then the different pests’ threats, and finally how to measure the results of a pest management program. This allowed attendees to leave the conference with the knowledge on how to create a successful food safety IPM program.”
Information on next year’s event will be available soon on McCloud Services website. See some photos from the event below.
Peter Poteres, VP of quality assurance for Glanbia Performance Nutrition, opened the seminar by sharing how his company eliminated 90 percent of the water used on-site for cleaning operations through a closed cleaning system.
Renowned rodentologist and PMP Hall of Famer Dr. Bobby Corrigan (Class of 2008), foreground, was both a speaker and an attendee.
A panel discussion on “Auditing/Measuring Results” was conducted by, from left, Meaghan Meyer, VP of food safety, CraftMark Bakery; Al St. Cyr, president, ASC Consulting; and Dan Collins, regional technical director for McCloud Services.
Attendees were encouraged to visit vendor booths and eat lunch during the event’s midday break.
Scott Broaddus, business lead, Bayer Digital Pest Management, concluded the day’s presentations with his take on “Innovate: Introducing New Technology.”
McCloud Services’ Technical Director Patricia Hottel shared her experience with monitors in the food safety industry as part of a dual presentation with Broaddus titled “Innovate: Introducing New Technology.”
