With the office team working from home because of the coronavirus pandemic, Luke Rambo, ACE, owner and president of Rambo Pest Control in Puyallup, Wash., took advantage of the uninterrupted time and rearranged the décor in the entryway of the company’s headquarters.
“Occasionally, we have customers stroll in; they always are fascinated to see what we have collected and they have a million questions,” he says. Look closely, and you’ll see framed posters of Pest Management Professional’s (PMP’s) November 2016 and 2019 issue covers.
The middle display case in the Rambo Pest Control entryway features pieces of pest-damaged materials. “All new recruits are trained using these specimen collections, so there is a practical purpose,” Rambo explains. The left display case hosts a collection of pinned insect specimens assembled by the company’s service manager, while the one at right shows off old pesticide containers found on jobsites.
Employees took the metal-printed pest photos shown on the wall above as part of a Pest Pic of the Month contest. Winners spin a prize wheel for a chance at $50, $100 or $500. Above, Office Associate Beki Eaton, who twice won $500, gives the wheel a whirl.
