For the past few years, Instagram has become one of the most popular social media platforms on the Internet. However, for many pest management professionals (PMPs), it’s still a relatively new platform and therefore fully leveraging its strength can take some practice.

One of the biggest reasons why some businesses don’t quite achieve success on Instagram is due to the fact that they never thought of optimizing their business profile.

Let’s look at how you can optimize your Instagram business profile the right way and leverage the platform for your company’s marketing.

Here are four tips to effectively build an Instagram profile:

1. Select a profile picture that perfectly reflects your brand. Your profile picture is one of the first things that your target audience will come across the first time they interact with your pest control brand. Hence, you need to select one that perfectly reflects your brand. One of the easiest & most effective solutions is to add your pest control brand’s logo. You need to make sure that the profile picture is of the highest quality, looks good on different devices, and isn’t pixelated. Some of your prospects or customers may even open your Instagram profile on bigger devices like desktops or laptops.

2. Add in a keyword along with your pest control company’s name. If you are really good with keywords, you will conquer the digital world like a beast. One of the most important points that you need to keep in mind is that your target audience should easily be able to find your Instagram profile. Hence, I’d advise you to add in keywords along with your pest control business’ name. Your prospects looking for you on the platform will usually search for your brand’s name. Adding keywords will help you ensure that you are creating an outstanding experience for your audience.

3. Add in keywords in your profile bio. You have five seconds to make an outstanding impression on your audience. That’s the reason you need an out-of-the-box bio for your pest control business. Your bio should be easily scannable. And that’s where the target keywords come in. These keywords will be your best friends on Instagram. That’s because they will help clarify the kind of content your audience will find on your Instagram account.

4. A/B Test the Instagram bio. No matter how many times you optimize your Instagram bio, you may find some of the tactics not aligning well with your marketing goals. In order to learn whether your bio is effective, it’s advisable to run an A/B test. To get started, select a dependent variable that can be measured. Now, it’s time to create different variety of Instagram profiles and keep rotating them evenly in order to make sure that each of the bios is displayed in front of the equivalent number of followers for the same amount of time. The next step is to analyze the URL performance data for determining which profile managed to effectively generate URL clicks. Content and captions on Instagram are definitely important. But your bio and your profile picture will help you create an outstanding first impression on your audience.

If you haven’t yet optimized your Instagram profile, you are missing out on a lot.
