Sprague promotes 4th generation of family management

Tacoma, Wash.-based Sprague Pest Solutions has promoted two members to its executive leadership team, bringing in the family-owned company’s fourth generation of pest management professionals. Ross Treleven was promoted to president, and AJ Treleven, ACE, was promoted to director of operations.

Ross joined Sprague as his first job in 1998, and took a full-time technician role in 2001 while attending college. After graduating, he transitioned to an account management position. Since then, Ross has managed the company’s Seattle, Wash., and Denver, Colo., branch offices; was named district manager for Denver, Boise, Idaho, and Salt Lake City, Utah, in 2012; and was promoted to general manager in 2015. He was named the VP of operations in 2019, and then executive VP earlier this year. Ross earned a degree in marketing from Gonzaga University and a master of business administration degree (MBA) from the University of Denver.

“I am deeply flattered to have achieved this position within the company,” Ross said in a news release. “It means a great deal to me personally to be the next steward of the organization. We have a great team here at Sprague, and I feel lucky to work with them every day.”

AJ most recently served as Sprague’s regional manager for Puget Sound, after leading Sprague’s Seattle and Salt Lake City branch offices. He joined the company in 2012 in a sales role, and then took on roles in branch management, district management and, most recently, as regional manager of Western Washington, Utah and Nevada. He has a degree in operations and supply chain management from Gonzaga University and an MBA from Seattle University.

Sprague CEO Alfie Treleven said the promotions are reflective of Sprague’s commitment to developing  talent from within its ranks.

Sprague services seven states, including Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Colorado, Nevada and California. Founded in 1926, it counts many leading food processing and distribution, agriculture, commercial property, education, healthcare, and hospitality facilities as customers.

In early April, Sprague began offering disinfection services to its commercial clients to help combat the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). The service, designed to compliment a facility’s existing pest management, food safety and cleaning and sanitation programs, contributes to protecting clients’ facilities, employees and the public from harmful viruses, including human coronaviruses, bacteria and mold.

Other specialty technical services Sprague offers include risk assessments and audit preparation, commodity fumigations and fumigation alternatives, a full suite of organic programs, large-scale bird exclusion and management, bed bug services, employee and food safety training, and disinfection services.
