Coalmarch, a provider of digital marketing and sales efficiency solutions for the pest control industry, hosted its annual CO2 conference virtually this year, naming it CO2@Home.

Coalmarch CEO and Triangle Pest Control Owner Donnie Shelton kicked off CO2@Home on Tues., Dec. 1. The annual meeting has gone virtual this year, and features presentations by experts to help attendees grow their pest control and lawn care businesses. “With COVID this year, we had to adapt, we had to overcome,” he said, which helped businesses in these industries do well despite the pandemic.

Dan Gordon, CPA, managing partner, PCO Bookkeepers and PMP columnist, discussed how to measure the financial health of your business. “Every company should have recurring revenue woven into its core,” he said. “During jolts to the economy, all the one-time revenue dries up. For the most part, you’re not losing as much revenue when it’s recurring.”

The 2020 Global Bed Bug Summit took place virtually Dec. 1-3, this year. The National Pest Management Association’s annual event is designed to provide pest management professionals (PMPs) with the information from legal, technical, business, and customer-oriented perspectives, so they can not only eliminate bed bug issues, but also create an environment of trust between themselves and their customers.

Originally set to take place in Denver, Colo., the virtual Summit featured a 24/7 trade show and recertification credits with no travel required.

The National Pest Management Association (NPMA) and the event’s premier sponsor, BedBug Central, made the decision to take it virtual based on the continuing COVID-19 pandemic.

In his opening remarks, BedBug Central’s Rob DiJoseph, let it slip that his company will have a new name in January: Stay tuned.
