Throughout 2021, FMC Corp. is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its Talstar insecticide registration.

The Philadelphia, Pa.-based manufacturer is offering multiple promotions, a sweepstakes, an updated logo and bottle, and monthly training events to earn continuing education units (CEUs).

“We are proud to highlight the longevity of the Talstar brand,” said Sam Pass, BCE, pest and nursery market manager at FMC. “Pest management professionals and lawn care operators have built their businesses on a product like Talstar. We look forward to a yearlong celebration and offering additional resources for our end user customers.”

Talstar insecticide provides long-lasting, broad-spectrum control of more than 75 pests including ants, termites, cockroaches, spiders, bed bugs, fleas and ticks.

The company’s spring and fall promotions will feature special pricing on Talstar.

FMC will also unveil its new Talstar logo and bottle in conjunction with the 25th Anniversary Talstar Sweepstakes at the National Pest Management Association’s Legislative Day in March 2021. The sweepstakes will feature a grand prize of a two new Ford F-150 trucks, one for the lawn care market and one for the pest control market.

“The prizes included in the Talstar Sweepstakes are trusted brands that have stood the test of time, like Talstar,” said Mike Sisti, marketing manager for FMC Professional Solutions.

Through the FMC True Champions program, the company will launch a First Friday Training Series, where CEUs can be earned in select states. Each session will feature industry speakers on a variety of categories for CEU credits for attendees to put toward a commercial applicator license. The first training will be Feb. 5.

FMC technologies include insect control products based on the active ingredients rynaxypyr and cyazypyr; Authority, Boral, Centium, Command and Gamit branded herbicides; Talstar and Hero branded insecticides; and flutriafol-based fungicides. The FMC portfolio also includes biologicals such as Quartzo and Presence bionematicides.
