Pyrethroid product labels have evolved to effectively restrict the total application volume that may be used to treat the exterior of a structure. A brief review of common label language will act as a reminder of the methods that may be employed for perimeter treatments.

Applications may be made to the side of a building up to a maximum height of 3 feet above grade. Treatment may be applied to the underside of eaves, soffits, doors and windows, providing they are permanently protected from rainfall by a covering, overhang, awning or other structure. Applications around potential pest entry points into buildings are limited to a surface band that cannot exceed 1 inch in width. Building surfaces may not be treated if they are directly above an impervious surface, drainage or other condition that could result in runoff into storm drains, drainage ditches, gutters or surface waters.
