FMC to host October First Friday webinar

FMC True Champions will host its next First Friday Continuing Education Unit (CEU) webinar on Oct. 6 at 10:30 a.m. Eastern.

“Cockroaches: Identification, Biology and Control” is a one-hour webinar that will cover the ins and outs of cockroach biology, identification and management. “Understanding how cockroaches thrive in the home environment, the health risks associated with cockroaches, and a breakdown of the literature on control techniques will help pest control professionals implement the most effective management strategies,” according to an FMC news release.

The presenter is entomology doctoral candidate Johnalyn Gordon, working under the direction of Dr. Zachary DeVries at the University of Kentucky. Her doctoral research focuses on bed bugs and cockroaches, and their potential health impacts on humans. Gordon earned her bachelor of science degree in wildlife ecology and conservation, with a minor in entomology, at the University of Florida. She also earned her master of science degree in entomology at the University of Florida, with a focus on termite biology and control.

FMC True Champions members have an opportunity to earn CEUs in selected states. At press time, eligible CEU-approved states include Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Utah, Vermont, Washington and Wyoming.
