Envu announces the addition of Temprid Dust to its complementary suite of bed bug detection and control solutions. By combining two modes of action in a light silica aerogel formulation, Temprid Dust provides quick knockdown of pests in hard-to-reach areas.

Envu Professional Pest Management is on a mission to revolutionize bed bug treatment with its market-leading bed bug portfolio, which consists of three, trademarked key offerings:

  • TruDetx Bed Bug Rapid Test, which is considered to be the first tool in its category to detect bed bugs with a rapid test;
  • Temprid FX insecticide, which can be effective in preventing infestations for up to six months after initial treatment; and now…
  • Temprid Dust, which can last for years in dry, undisturbed environments.

This portfolio covers a spectrum of solutions for different stages of bed bug management, starting with reliable early detection, and addresses the critical need for innovative tools in the battle against these persistent pests.

“We’re very excited to introduce Temprid Dust to the market because we believe it will enable pest management professionals to add more power to their programs, which translates to greater success managing infestations,” Matt Remmen, Envu senior technical market development manager, said in a news release. “Temprid Dust uses two modes of action to eliminate bed bugs and other indoor pests, including pyrethroid-resistant strains, on contact. And with a lighter formulation compared to similar products, it is not only the ideal solution for hard-to-reach harborages, but it can also last for years in dry, undisturbed environments.”

Temprid Dust contains two active ingredients: beta-cyfluthrin (pyrethroid) and the all-new flupyradifurone (butenolide), both of which have an exclusive mode of action and are amended on a silica aerogel carrier (the delivery system). This light formulation makes it ideal for hard-to-reach areas and precise insect contact.

Additionally, thanks to its application versatility, Temprid Dust can treat hard-to-reach areas such as electrical outlets, baseboards, cracks and crevices, and other hidden spots where bed bugs reside.

In the news release, Envu Product Development Manager Dr. Alex Ko underscored the importance of developing products with new modes of action.

“Bed bugs can show resistance to different insecticides, which makes a diversified approach the best way to effectively treat them,” he explained. “It’s essential to keep innovating so we can provide pest management professionals with new tools that empower them to combat bed bug infestations with confidence and efficacy.”

In addition to bed bugs, Temprid Dust can be used to control cockroaches, ants, spiders and other indoor pests. Temprid Dust is now available for purchase at all Envu pest control distributors.
