Bat bugs are closely associated with their bat hosts. They rarely establish an infestation inside a home by sustaining themselves on human blood. However, they can be problematic during the spring and early summer, when bat pups are present and bat removal is prohibited.

Inspect to identify incursion routes and apply a residual insecticide to intercept bat bugs as they enter the home. There is no need to treat beds or other furniture, because bat bugs are unlikely to establish colonies in these areas.

When the bats have been excluded, we recommend applying an appropriately labeled dust to the roost to complete the job.
