
Cary, N.C.-based Atticus appointed Scott Kuschmider to the newly created position of vice president, government & industry affairs.
In this role, Kuschmider will:
- Develop and implement strategies to effectively engage with government entities.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments.
- Advocate for the interests of both Atticus and the industries the company serves.
Kuschmider will be based in Washington, D.C., and his responsibilities will include legislative and administrative government offices, including elected officials, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the U.S. Department of Justice and bodies responsible for trade, enforcement and foreign investment in the U.S.

Kuschmider spent 10 years working for multiple members of congress, including four years on the majority staff of the House Committee on Agriculture, first as professional staff, then later as subcommittee staff director. He has since spent 14 years in the private sector with Monsanto and, most recently, with Bayer as a vice president of agricultural affairs & policy.
