Use the “submarine compartmenting” technique to overcome frustrating fly situations

One of the most frustrating fly situations a PMP can face is when flies emerge from a dead animal hidden in an inaccessible area like a wall void, recessed light or around a supply or return vent. The culprits could be house flies, blow flies (Calliphoridae), flesh flies (Sarcophagidae), scuttle flies (Megaselia scalaris) or even cheese skippers (Piophila casei). Finding the carcass is unlikely, and though nature eventually will take its course, your customers don’t want flies bouncing off windows — or worse, the light above the kitchen table.

Try the “submarine compartmenting” technique: Close interior doors to isolate and contain activity. Then, find the emergence point and apply a natural insecticidal dust into the wall, floor or ceiling void to “cut ’em off at the pass.” They’ll become out of sight and mind for customers while your treatment outlasts the decay.
