Tips & Tricks: How to Use Dog Food to Eliminate Rats

By

January 7, 2016

PMP0815_Reid-IpserRRodent behavior differs among species. Mice are inquisitive and prone to explore and investigate with impunity. Rats, however, are very cautious of new surroundings, which means it’s more difficult to remove and eliminate them. If one snap trap fails, all similar remaining traps will be useless.

Place dog food in plastic bags — something that the rats might take to — and gradually manipulate by including a toxicant. For example, if they take to the dog food, add a liquid toxicant and place again. Don’t disturb their surroundings. Allow for comfortable change.
