Bed bugs are parasites that feed only on blood. Research has demonstrated that “core” bed bug harborage will be located in, on or close to sites where people sleep or sit for extended periods.
Therefore, focus intense inspection and treatments where residents sleep (both overnight and during the day). Interview for special circumstances, such as elderly or disabled residents who spend many hours on a couch, recliner or specific medical appliance.
Also pay attention to clutter in and around target sites that will interfere with treatments (both chemical and non-chemical) and may provide escape sites. Those will lead to callbacks if not rectified.
