Ants — the social pests that forage, grow and harbor in every land environment — are still the industry’s No. 1 pest. As the winter months continue, many species will hibernate and stay dormant. When spring arrives, though, colonies will start their growth phase and will need protein.

To prevent intrusion and reduce resurgence in the spring, keep structures free of debris and any food particles. Spray residual liquids and/or broadcast residual granules around the perimeter of the structure. Manicure plants and shrubs in early spring prior to insecticide application. Make sure grass is short, and plants and trees do not touch the periphery.
