Cockroaches can easily adapt to modern control strategies, but they also can be overcome with good measures. Whether infestations are found in residential or commercial accounts, the same steps can be followed:

  • Positive identification.
  • Thoroughly inspecting for cockroach feces, unpleasant smells and oothecae. Identify hot spots where females and nymphs are found, because they stay close to food and shelter.
  • Eliminating moisture and alternative foods. Decluttering is equally important, as clutter provides shelter.
  • Flushing and vacuuming. Mechanically removing cockroaches will prevent re-population.
  • Closing gaps. Use caulk to prevent further infestation.
  • Baiting. Read more: 6 cockroach baiting tips
  • Follow-up. Use monitors to observe the population. Conduct follow-up treatments as needed.
