Jerry Schappert, ACE:  “Increase job satisfaction. Treat your employees like family so they can treat your company like family.”

Sheri Spencer Bachman, ACE: “Improve your company culture. Employees come for a paycheck, then stay because of the company culture.”

Greg Baumann: “First, express gratitude to employees regularly. Second, managers need to look at their actions and how employees are treated. Sometimes a little adjustment will improve retention.”

Doug Foster: “Besides great pay, outstanding benefits and standing up for your employees by having their backs, create a company culture where it’s OK to make mistakes.”

Pete Schopen: “Obviously, employees like financial rewards — but many also like to have input in the day-to-day operations of the company. Good employees also appreciate recognition for tasks accomplished, so shower them with (deserved) praise and they will stick around longer.”

Michael Broder: “With today’s job market, employee retention is critical. We must constantly show employees the roadmap for their continued growth and advancement. When interviewing applicants, one of the biggest complaints we hear about their previous jobs was no room to advance. We try to clearly show everyone the path to a long career with us and help them with every step along the way.”

Foster Brusca: “Develop a positive and inclusive company culture that encourages teamwork, collaboration and a sense of belonging.”
