Web Extra: PMP contributors have their say on technology trends

By

January 9, 2017

On p. 14 of our January issue, Pest Management Professional magazine columnists Pete Schopen and Mark Sheperdigian have their say on which trends they see having an impact on our industry. But columnists Ray Johnson and Dr. Doug Mampe have weighed in, too:

Ray_Johnson_300x375Johnson: Texting — having the ability to text your customers, and for them to be able to text back to your company. Mobile is here to stay, and will likely be the only way to reach your customer base as landlines go by the wayside.

Doug Mampe

Dr. Mampe: The public reads things on social media every day and if they have a pest problem, many read up on it. The problem is, misinformation also is out there and you must be prepared to deal with that. Be aware of what recognized universities have on the internet, and carry copies of it if necessary to deal with misinformation. Right now, bed bugs are hot, but many are misled by poor information.

Now it’s your turn: What are your thoughts on new technologies and their impact on professional pest management? Sound off below or send your response to hgooch@northcoastmedia.net.
