Many customers attempt to solve bird problems themselves by purchasing a visual deterrent, such as a plastic owl. But visual deterrents are only successful when the fear created overcomes the attraction of food, water or shelter at the site. Help your customers with three tricks to make such deterrents more effective by suggesting they:

  • Place the owl in a tree or some other natural setting.
  • Change the owl’s position every few days.
  • Use one of the automatic rotating and screeching owls available on the market, so the birds don’t get used to an immobile decoy.

As you educate your customer, they will come to rely on your knowledge to help solve the problem.
