Sprague Pest Solutions has a documented history of deploying innovation and technology for the benefit of its clients.

In keeping with that tradition, Sprague Pest Solutions, the largest privately owned pest management company dedicated solely to the commercial market in the United States, has introduced a new generation online Logbook.

The Logbook will allow clients and third-party auditors real-time access to critical data and documentation needed for audits and inspections. It will also assist clients access program information, and improve reporting and search functionality.

“We always look for ways to continuously improve the effectiveness of our client’s pest control programs and make the audit process smoother,” said Ashley Roden, BCE, Sprague’s technical/quality assurance manager. “The release of the new Logbook and customer portal platforms marks a major milestone in our commitment to providing customers with a world-class experience. These updates allow us to better serve our customers and ensure a seamless and secure process for customers to manager their accounts.”

Logbook

The Logbook is designed for enhanced audit compliance and documentation to assist food processing, distribution, and service clients prepare for and successfully passing critical third-party audits and inspections. The Logbook makes use of advanced analytics and automation to save time and effort. It also allows users to continually review their data, ensuring accuracy and providing peace of mind. All Sprague audited customers will be moved to the new Logbook by June 1.

The Logbook’s features include:

  • Audit documentation including trend mapping, contracted services, pest program reviews and organic documents.
  • Sophisticated pest sighting log with QR codes to instantly submit photos.
  • Improved conditions reporting
  • Upgraded device mapping.
  • Easier access to material safety data sheets (SDS) and labels.
  • Faster access to field team and business licensure.
  • Print/download up to 12 months of documentation.
  • Mobile-friendly access.

Customer Portal

Sprague’s investment in its client’s satisfaction and success in deterring pests began with the debut of the enhanced digital customer portal in the fall of 2022.

“Our clients rely on forward-thinking technology and the enhanced portal provides them access to the tools that will allow them to make decisions faster and with a greater degree of accuracy. The portal is secure and encrypted with the latest security protocols to ensure data is always kept safe,” said Ari Rogoway, Sprague’s director of information technology.

The portal – which can be accessed by clients on both desktop and mobile platforms – features the following:

  • The ability for customers to request new services, view upcoming services and review detailed service comments.
  • Robust trending reports and alerts.
  • Customizable report subscriptions and notifications.
  • Multi-location access and the ability to create custom groupings.
  • Invoice and payment method access across multiple locations.
  • Online bill-pay and payment history access.

Sprague hires regional entomologist

In other Sprague news, the company announced the hiring of Darren Van Steenwyk, BCE, as regional entomologist in the NorCal District.

Van Steenwyk brings over 20 years of experience in the pest management industry, with an extensive background in legislative policy. As a board-certified regional entomologist and former president of the California Structural Pest Control Board, he will work closely with Sprague Pest Solutions’ team to provide technical expertise and support in the training and development of Sprague employees.

Van Steenwyk holds a master’s degree from University of Florida with an emphasis in pest management, and is a graduate of University of California – Davis with a bachelor’s degree in biological science. He is a frequent speaker at pest industry conferences and has served on various committees on the national and state level.
